LATEST UPDATE ON CARE COMPARE MAY 24, 2023
The most recent update to Care Compare occurred on May 24, 2023. This public platform allows users to compare hospices within a specific state or region, with the option to compare data for up to three hospices simultaneously. Care Compare is a valuable resource for patients, family members, and physicians seeking information on hospice quality outcomes. The site not only provides data on outcome measures and HIS (Hospice Item Set), but also reports CAHPS Hospice Survey outcomes and star ratings.
HOSPICE CARE INDEX: ENSURING DATA ACCURACY AND UTILIZING PREVIEW REPORTS FOR PUBLICLY VIEWABLE SCORES
The Hospice Care Index, which scores hospices based on 10 elements with a range of 0-10 points, is now available on Care Compare. It is crucial to ensure the accuracy of your data due to its public nature. Preview reports are released 60 days before the data goes live on the Care Compare site. Once these reports appear in the QIES system where you get your CASPER reports, you can request a review of your results if you disagree with them.

CARE COMPARE UPDATE AND PREVIEW REPORTS: STAYING INFORMED FOR THE AUGUST 2023 RELEASE
In addition to the May 24 update to the Care Compare site, May 2023 also introduced the preview reports for the forthcoming August release. As a result, not only did the Care Compare site receive an update in late May, but the preview reports for the August 2023 update were released as well. It is essential to review these preview reports to keep current with the latest information.
