Last week, the July update to the Interim Performance Reports (IPR) was released, marking the first time, data from all of 2023 has been included in the reports. The data covers all 12 months for every measure in Value-Based Purchasing. This comprehensive report provides a clear picture of your performance over the past year, so it’s crucial to carefully review your Total Performance Score. Understanding where you stand within the percentile rankings can offer valuable insights into your performance and highlight areas for improvement.
The report also includes the preliminary Achievement Thresholds and Benchmarks for 2023, which will play a crucial role in calculating your Home Health Value-Based Purchasing (HHVBP) measure calculations in 2025. It’s important to remember that these numbers are still preliminary and may change as the data for 2023 is finalized. Keeping an eye on these benchmarks will help you better prepare for the upcoming adjustments and ensure you’re ready for any shifts in performance expectations.
Although data collection for 2023 is complete, an annual report will be released sometime in August, providing more insights into the year’s performance. Following this, the Linear Exchange Function will be applied, and around October, they will release calculations regarding the percentage impact on your payments. These calculations will determine whether an adjustment will be added to or deducted from your payments in 2025.
Be sure to examine any problem areas highlighted in these reports to focus on improving them throughout 2024. Addressing these issues now will help you make positive strides in your Value-Based Purchasing outcomes for the rest of the year.
Finally, remember that the Value-Based Purchasing changes for 2025 will place significant emphasis on the GG items from OASIS. These factors will have a substantial impact on your outcome measures, so it’s important to be aware of them as you plan for the future.
