An important opportunity is now available for healthcare providers to help reduce outdated and burdensome regulations across the industry.

The Hospice Proposed Rule was issued a couple of weeks ago, along with a request for information focused on deregulation across the healthcare industry. This request is not limited to home health, hospice, or both; it applies to healthcare as a whole.

This deregulation request for information invites you to submit comments on regulations you believe are outdated, overly burdensome, or hindering your agency’s growth, staff retention, or, most importantly, your ability to properly care for patients.

Keep in mind that this request for information is not limited to CMS regulations. It also covers regulations from agencies like OSHA, the Department of Labor, and others. If there is any federal regulation you believe is overly burdensome, outdated, or unnecessary, you should submit your comments.

The National Alliance for Care at Home is preparing a comment document to represent the industry and is asking you to send your specific input on deregulation to regulatory@allianceforcareathome.org. To ensure your comments are included, you must submit them by May 2. There is only a short window to gather and submit this information for the request.

This is a great opportunity. Anytime we can eliminate a nuisance regulation, it’s a positive step forward. Of course, some regulation is necessary — we all understand that — but many rules are overly burdensome and clearly outdated. Please take the time to compile your concerns. This is your chance to speak up. Every time you’ve been frustrated by a particular regulation, now is the time to share it. The National Alliance for Care at Home is working hard to represent you and wants to make sure your comments are included.
