About the Event

Preventing the spread of infection is the biggest component of an effective Infection Prevention and Control Program and is essential to protect patients, families and caregivers from avoidable hospitalizations, costly treatment, and pain.  Breaches in infection prevention contribute to survey deficiencies every year for Home Health and Hospice agencies. This session provides tips and guidance to prevent infections as well as the importance of tracking infections, interpreting the data to guide patient, caregiver and staff education, and infection prevention processes.  Tips and tools on conducting competencies, education, and infection control tracking will be addressed.
