About the Speaker(s)

With more than 37 years of nursing and healthcare experience, the majority of Victoria’s career has been in the home services arena including home health, hospice, home care, and home infusion where she has served in various roles. In home health and hospice, Victoria has served as agency administrator, interim administrator, clinical director, surveyor, mock surveyor, QAPI team member and consultant. Victoria has led and participated in the start-up of hospice, home care and home infusion agencies and has successfully led teams through the initial Certification and Accreditation process as well as renewals of existing Certification/Accreditations.

Volunteer Coordination/Bereavement Coordination
12:15 pm – 1:15 pm CST
Hospice volunteer and bereavement programs are essential to meet patient/caregiver needs and adhere to regulatory guidelines.  This session addresses the requirements for hospice volunteers and addresses accepted volunteer activities, the importance of ongoing recruitment and retention and the value volunteers can provide for our patients and cost-savings.  Bereavement requirements from the initial bereavement assessment to the required bereavement follow-up and activities will be discussed, the experience required for staff supervising bereavement services and documentation required to support compliance. 

HOPE Tool
2:30 pm – 3:30 pm CST
With the 10/1/25 implementation of the HOPE Tool underway,  this interactive session will address the required HOPE timepoints including clarification of sequencing and submission guidance for each, HOPE impact on the 2027 and 2028 APU,  and the timeline for public reporting .  Session attendees’ feedback on their early successes and challenges,  troubleshooting and corrections are welcome.
