About the Speaker(s)
Melinda A. Gaboury, with more than 30 years in home care, has over 22 years of executive speaking and educating experience, including extensive day to day interaction with home care and hospice professionals. She routinely conducts Home Care and Hospice Reimbursement Workshops and speaks at state association meetings throughout the country. Melinda has profound experience in Medicare PDGM training, billing, collections, case-mix calculations, chart reviews and due diligence. UPIC, RA, ADR & TPE appeals with all Medicare MACs have become the forefront of Melinda’s current impact on the industry. She is currently serving as the Chair of the NAHC/HHFMA Advisory Board and Work Group and is currently serving on the Board of Directors for both the Home Care Association of Florida & Tennessee Association for Home Care. Melinda is also the author of the Home Health OASIS Guide to OASIS-E and Home Health Billing Answers, 2023.

Home Health RCD Focus

The Review Choice Demonstration (RCD) has officially been approved to continue past the original demonstration end date of 05/31/2024. This session will detail review the current status of RCD, share experiences from pre-claim review and discuss some of the prevalent processes within your agency that may need to be tweaked. We will navigate through the TOUGH topic of Face-to-Face encounters and the coding of the primary reason for home care that is causing so many issues. This session will review success stories as well.
Looking Into CMS’ Crystal Ball: Tying GG Items, Quality Measure and VBP to a Goal of Unified PAC Payment

A 2022 Report to Congress outlined a prototype Unified Post-Acute Care prospective payment system. This glimpse into the report will outline the importance of data accuracy for current and future state Quality Metrics, VBP, and payment as Home Health Care measures continue to be aligned with other post-acute care settings’ measures. This session will outline plans for continued standardization of data elements such as OASIS GG Items, as well as management of Medicare spending per beneficiary – topics that have continued to make headlines since 2014’s IMPACT Act became law.
