Dedra J. Briggs, RN, COS-C, HCS-D
Clinical Projects Manager
Briggs is a Clinical Projects Manager at Healthcare Provider Solutions, Inc (HPS). Briggs joined Healthcare Provider Solutions in the summer of 2013 and is responsible for clinical consulting, which includes performing client chart reviews, ICD-10-CM coding assistance, OASIS transmission report analysis and contributing writer for the HPS blog.
Briggs received an academic scholarship to Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green, Kentucky where she received her Associate of Science Degree in Nursing. Upon graduation in 1986, Briggs began working in the public health sector as a Community Health Nurse. Her responsibilities included physical assessments, and oversight of the diabetes education program.
In June 2007, Briggs began working with a home care agency as a Case Manager. Her responsibilities included OASIS assessments, direct skilled nursing services, disease management, wound care and coordination of patient services. In August 2008, Briggs was promoted to Director of Operations. Her responsibilities included assuring the agency’s compliance with all state and federal regulations, clinical, operational and financial oversight of the agency as well as clinical chart reviews, staff education and supervision. The agency was named in the top 25 percent of home care agencies by Home Care Elite in 2008 and was recognized as a Top 500 agency from 2009-2013.
Briggs maintains her skilled nursing license by obtaining the required contact hours through seminars and self study in home health and related subjects. Briggs has earned her Certificate OASIS Specialist-Clinical (COS-C) and her Home Care Coding Specialist-Diagnosis (HCS-D) certification.
