About the Event
Join us in Seattle, Washington, this October as the National Association for Home Care & Hospice explores “Foresight: Care for the Future.”
Explorers are leaders and risk takers. They have a vision for the future, and they help others see and believe their vision. Our role as pioneers and explorers is to help others understand that home care and hospice are “Care for the Future.”

Sunday, October 13, 2019 | 2:50PM – 3:50PM | Value Based Purchasing: Best Practices You Can Build On
Room: 606/607 Session Number: 105
OASIS-D is a significant part of Home Health Value Based Purchasing (VBP) as VBP is in the 4th year of the Pilot and huge changes to the Pilot were effective January 1, 2019. This session will take you through those changes, including a restructuring of how the Total Performance Score (TPS) is actually calculated. Most importantly, this session is going to take agencies into the depths of how to peel off the layers of the calculations and how agencies can apply best practices in improving their scores with OASIS-D items and HHCAHPS. This session will emphasize how agencies should not let change dictate their future, but should take control of their outcomes.

Preparing now is essential in being prepared for the PDGM onslaught.
Tuesday, October 15, 2019 | 11:00AM – 12:00PM | Top Five Hospice Medicare Review Denials and How to Avoid Them
Room: 609 Session Number: 607
In the current environment of the targeted and third party reviews there is a constant concern of reviews that could result in recoupment of payments already made to hospices. This session will narrow the focus of the education to the top five denial reasons and go into depth on each one and providing broader concepts. This session will highlight the documentation requirements to avoid the denials and the regulations that support. If your hospice is currently in a review or is just looking to improve the quality review standards, this session is a must attend.
