About the Event

Improving Revenue Cycle Management

2022 has already brought about some significant concerns with the Notice of Admission (NOA) and its proper processing. This session will take you through where we are today with the NOA and what agencies need to do to ensure they are timely. In addition, this session will look at the entire process of the home health revenue cycle from intake through the collection of the payment. You need your revenue cycle team members involved. All of them, not just the billers.

Home Health PEPPER: What’s New?

The PEPPER (Program for Evaluating Payment Patterns Electronic Report) has swiftly become the focal point of everyone’s attention when it comes to Medicare home health medical reviews. PEPPER data, which comes from processed claims information, plays a substantial role in deciding whether to medically review an agency or not. Many of the targets PEPPER calculates are extremely beneficial to home health agencies. By utilizing these targets, you can gain insight into claims details that may have been overlooked and may have affected target calculation. The session will cover the key elements of PEPPER targets and how to review the data you have within your organization, if necessary, to determine how they can be improved. PEPPER targets have evolved with the implementation of the Patient-Driven Groupings Model (PDGM), so don’t miss this session to be prepared!

Roaring Ahead With Nationwide Expansion of the Home Health Value-Based Purchasing Program

The Medicare Home Health Value-Based Purchasing (HHVBP) program will be implemented nationwide in 2023. During this workshop, participants will gain an understanding of the five-year HHVBP demonstration as well as its impact on nine participating states, including Florida. We will also analyze how changes to the HHVBP program over the past two years have affected Medicare-certified home health providers. Healthcare Provider Solutions CEO Melinda Gaboury will discuss the structure of the HHVBP demonstration that ended in 2020, as well as results from providers participating in the demonstration. Additionally, the workshop will review the calculation methodology for the nationwide rollout as well as what providers should do to prepare for implementation.
