About the Speaker(s)
Melinda A. Gaboury, with more than 30 years in home care, has over 22 years of executive speaking and educating experience, including extensive day to day interaction with home care and hospice professionals. She routinely conducts Home Care and Hospice Reimbursement Workshops and speaks at state association meetings throughout the country. Melinda has profound experience in Medicare PDGM training, billing, collections, case-mix calculations, chart reviews and due diligence. UPIC, RA, ADR & TPE appeals with all Medicare MACs have become the forefront of Melinda’s current impact on the industry. She is currently serving on the NAHC/HHFMA Advisory Board and Work Group and is Treasurer on the Home Care Association of Florida Board of Directors. Melinda is also the author of the Home Health OASIS Guide to OASIS-D1 and Home Health Billing Answers, 2022.
Robbi D. Funderburk James is a Registered Nurse who joined Healthcare Provider Solutions, Inc. (HPS), as the Director of Coding and OASIS Review, in March 2022. Robbi is part of the coding and OASIS review team providing support and solutions to home health and hospice agencies across the country to achieve Coding and OASIS accuracy and compliance.
Robbi’s diverse healthcare background started 19 years ago when she began providing care to patients as a labor and delivery and ER nurse after receiving her nursing degree from Florida State University in Tallahassee, Florida. Throughout her nursing career, she has worked in various capacities within the home health, hospice, and private duty industries. Robbi assists homecare and hospice agencies in providing quality, meeting regulations, ICD-10 coding, OASIS, optimizing outcomes including Value Based Purchasing and Star Ratings. She has educated Home Health Agencies on the requirements for Coding, OASIS and PDGM as well as providing coding education to Hospice Agencies. Robbi’s extensive Coding and OASIS background, along with her vast clinical experience inspires her to continually provide the highest level of service.

This webinar will take you through the significant impact that coding has on the PDGM model and calculation of the HIPPS code. Medical Review is on the rise and one aspect of home health medical review is the confirmation of the primary diagnosis and whether it truly is the primary focus of care. If the Start of Care is being reviewed, was the primary diagnosis TREATED during the Face-to-Face Encounter? In addition, this webinar will review new ICD-10 codes that have been introduced in 2022-23.
