Day 1 | Wednesday, June 23, 2021 | Registration: 8:30AM | Workshop: 9:00AM – 4:00PM | Hospice Compliance
This workshop will address some of the greatest challenges facing hospices today! Among the topics that will be addressed: The “Patient Notification of Hospice Non-Covered Items, Services, and Drugs” addendum, live discharges, extreme lengths of stay – both long and short, timely completion and updates to the comprehensive assessment and lastly IDG meeting successes and failures. A sample IDG agenda is provided to all participants who will learn what should and should not be documented by the IDG and the techniques to be employed in creating value and efficiency of the meeting and its purpose.
We will address the appropriate use of the Advance Beneficiary Notice of Noncoverage (ABN) in the hospice setting including its use with hospice level of care changes and when hospice eligibility is no longer supported. QAPI is a topic that Hospices would rather forget about, but it is a fact of operating as a Medicare Certified Hospice and we will cover the details of a successful QAPI Program. Other hot topics will include updates to the Emergency Preparedness Program and Targeted Probe & Educate.
